Waging, or attempting to wage war, or abetting waging of war, against the Government of India
Section 121 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Waging, or attempting to wage war, or abetting waging of war, against the Government of India) corresponds to Section 147 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, in force from 1 July 2024. Under the BNSS First Schedule, BNS 147 is cognizable, non-bailable, triable by Court of Session; punishment: Death, or imprisonment for life and fine.

147. Whoever wages war against the Government of India, or attempts to wage such war, or abets the waging of such war, shall be punished with death, or imprisonment for life and shall also be liable to fine.
