Section 147 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 deals with waging, or attempting to wage war, or abetting waging of war, against Government of India. It replaces IPC 121 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. Under the BNSS First Schedule, BNS 147 is cognizable and non-bailable.

147. Whoever wages war against the Government of India, or attempts to wage such war, or abets the waging of such war, shall be punished with death, or imprisonment for life and shall also be liable to fine.
