(5) Whoever attempts to commit robbery shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.

Section 393 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Attempt to commit robbery) corresponds to Section 309(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, in force from 1 July 2024.
