Using as true such declaration knowing it to be false
Section 200 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Using as true such declaration knowing it to be false) corresponds to Section 237 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, in force from 1 July 2024. Under the BNSS First Schedule, BNS 237 is non-cognizable, bailable, triable by Court by which offence of giving false evidence is triable; punishment: The same as for giving false evidence.

The BNS applies to offences committed on or after 1 July 2024. Offences committed earlier are charged and tried under the IPC.
237. Whoever corruptly uses or attempts to use as true any such declaration, knowing the same to be false in any material point, shall be punished in the same manner as if he gave false evidence.
Explanation.—A declaration which is inadmissible merely upon the ground of some informality, is a declaration within the meaning of section 236 and this section.
