BNSS Section 359: Compounding of offences

Section 359 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 deals with compounding of offences. It replaces CrPC 320 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.

Text of BNSS Section 359

359. (1) The offences punishable under the sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 specified in the first two columns of the Table next following may be compounded by the persons mentioned in the third column of that Table: —

Assault or use of criminal force.
