325. Whoever commits mischief by killing, poisoning, maiming or rendering useless any animal shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to five years, or with fine, or with both.

Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 deals with mischief by killing or maiming animal. It replaces IPC 428, IPC 429 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. Under the BNSS First Schedule, BNS 325 is cognizable and bailable.
